The Malenadu Standard

We don’t just cook food; we preserve a culture. Here is what we refuse to compromise on.

  • Wood-Pressed Oils Only

    We use traditional wood-pressed oils that retain natural aroma, nutrients, and balance-never refined or industrial oils.

  • No Cooking Soda

    We never use soda to alter texture or speed up cooking. Fermentation and time do the work naturally.

  • No Artificial Colors

    Our food gets its color from ingredients - spices, greens, jaggery, and slow cooking. Nothing synthetic.
    Food need not to be colourful. It has to be healthy.

  • No Tasting Powders

    No artificial flavor enhancers. Taste comes from fresh ingredients, roasting, and traditional preparation.

  • Bird’s Eye Chilli Only

    Good food shouldn't burn the stomach. We avoid green chillies to prevent acidity, choosing Bird’s Eye Chillies instead. They are good for gut health and naturally reduce acidity.

  • Natural Jaggery from Malenadu

    Only natural jaggery sourced from Malenadu - no refined sugar, no bleaching, no shortcuts.

    Finally, a place in Bengaluru that actually walks the talk on 'Healthy Food.' What impressed me most isn't just the taste, but what they don't put in the food—no baking soda in the Akki Rottis and no palm oil in the cooking. You can actually feel the difference; you don't get that heavy, bloated feeling after a full meal. The Tambuli Puri is a revelation—baked, not fried, and zero guilt. If you are looking for authentic Malenadu flavors that are genuinely gut-friendly, this is the spot. Highly recommend the Lemon Grass Tambuli!

    A lovely spot for families and anyone curious about traditional Karnataka cuisine and authentic tambuli flavours, healthy, and quite different from typical café menus. Personally, I loved Shevige & Coconut milk combo and Kokan Tea!!
